A “healthy volunteer” is someone who doesn't have any major health problems, and takes part in research to test new medicines, devices, or treatments. UCSD offers clinical trials on a wide range of medical conditions. Healthy volunteers can help UCSD researchers make better comparisons to better understand the treatment of diseases.
